“We are all a little weird and life is a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.” – Dr Seuss
In June 2013, high in the mountains in Darjeeling, India, our weirdnesses collided. Our mutual love of travel, food and adventure became instantly apparent. Over the next five months, we travelled around Cambodia – volunteering for two months at a youth centre – Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.
As so often happens when a couple meets while on the road, the time came to head home. So followed a year of long-distance, 6784 km apart, from France to the US, during which we both worked hard to make our dream of long-term travel come true.
Now here we are, over 15 months into ‘the big adventure’, with no plan to stop any time soon. We constantly get asked “but when are you coming home?” The answer to this question has gone from “2017” to “2018” to “we will try to fit in a visit sometime soon.” Honestly, the truth is that the world has too much to offer. There are so many amazing places to see, and so much delicious food to eat, and yes, we plan to see (and eat) it all.
Amy

My parents took me out of school for a year and we travelled for 10 months. I blame them for giving me the travel bug, but can never thank them enough.
Although born in London, I lived in France for the greater part of my life. I quit school to travel and have never looked back.
I love dogs, food, cooking, taking photos (am very much still learning), and the ocean.
I grew up in small town West Virginia and before the age of 18 had never been outside the United States border. A study abroad program in Bangkok, Thailand changed all that and thrust my life in a different direction. Street food, food carts, and dingy restaurants have been a haven for cheap eats and memorable meals. There’s no place too crowded nor too sketchy when it’s dinner time. I want it all and I want it in my belly. New and challenging experiences are what I thrive on. Sounds dangerous, yet exciting? Count me in. You can find me being hurled out of a plane, at the bottom of the ocean, and everywhere in between. Usually sporting a full stomach, and a drink in hand at the end of the day.
Love your love of life and this wonderful world. Stay safe look forward to sharing your adventures
I hope you realize how lucky the two of you are. First of all to have met each other and second to have so many of the same interests and desires. I wish you lots of new adventures in the next year and beyond. I love you, and my prayers are with you. Let me know in an email when you are going to be on Skype so I can see you and talk to the both of you…Love…
